Luvuyo Magalela

A dynamic and accomplished professional, who has dedicated over two decades to the electricity and energy sector, culminating in leadership positions at the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

He began his leadership roles from 2012 till 2024 after showcasing a steady rise through the ranks, from Deputy Director to Acting City Manager, demonstrating a deep command of technical, financial, and strategic management. He played a pivotal role in modernizing the municipality’s electrical infrastructure, spearheading renewable energy projects, and implementing sustainable business practices.

He also served in various committees within the Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities and formed part of the delegation for international missions. Education: B-Tech in Electrical Engineering and master’s degree in business administration from Nelson Mandela Metro University and registered with Engineering Council of South Africa.
