Andile Africa

Andile Africa is the Chief Executive Officer of the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC), bringing over 20 years of experience in the automotive sector and a solid track record in driving public sector development initiatives. 

 

He holds a BEng (Hons) degree from the University of Birmingham and a Master’s in Supply Chain Management from the University of Pretoria. His academic background is further complemented by several postgraduate certifications, including a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Wits Business School and a Corporate Governance qualification from the Institute of Directors (IoD). 

 

At AIDC, Africa leads efforts to position South Africa’s automotive industry as globally competitive through strategic development and transformation initiatives. Under his leadership, AIDC focuses on five core pillars: retention, growth, innovation, transformation, and people. AIDC’s flagship projects include the Automotive Supplier Park, incubation programmes, township-based automotive hubs, supplier development and a wide-reaching skills development programme.
